Francis Malcolm Bacon, 86, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 11, 2018. Malcolm was born November 17, 1931 to Thomas Malcolm and Iula (Young) Bacon. He was reared and educated in Des Arc, Arkansas. After graduating Des Arc High School, Malcolm married the love of his life, Mary Ann Parks, May 13, 1951. The couple moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1955. Malcolm worked over twenty years at Dean Milk Company. Mr. Bacon worked at Galster Prosthetics/New Hope for 40 plus years. Malcolm and Mary Ann had five sons. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family. Malcolm was a faithful and active member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann (Parks) Bacon, five sons, Frankie Bacon (Jo Ellen) of White Hall, Carl Bacon (Patsy), Pine Bluff, Fred Bacon of Boston, Massachusetts, James Bacon (Becky), of Missouri, Robert Bacon (Kim) of Grand Prairie, Texas, five grandchildren, Chris Bacon (Tiffany), Pat Bacon (Amy), Ashley Price (Sean) and Kyle Bacon (Christy), two step grandchildren, Sarah Jones and John Jones, six great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Malcolm was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters, and granddaughter, Jennifer Bacon.

Visitation is 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Des Arc with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery by Garth Funeral Home. Reverend Mary Hilliard and Mike Galster officiating. Larry Hall

Rison - It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Waymon Hall announces his passing, after a brief illness, on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 73. Born in Warren, he was the son of the late Ira and Ouida Hargis Hall.

A native of Cleveland County, Larry graduated from Rison High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army Reserves and a member of Bethel Baptist #1 Missionary Baptist Church. He also served as a Justice of the Peace and was a former member of the Cleveland County Quorum Court. Larry owned multiple businesses over the years and retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a collector of glassware and antique cars and loved to attend auctions. Larry loved his animals; Boe, Brownie, Anna Mae and Pugsley.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Barbara, and his children, Fran Cleaver (Clay) of Rusk, Texas, Allison Kelley of Monticello, Ashley Hall of Hope, Jay Ratcliff of White Hall and Teresa Chapman of Pine Bluff.

Larry will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Austin Middleton, Emma Belle Cleaver, Emma Kate Kelley, Aislynn Stocks, Dustin Ratcliff, Zachary Chapman, Cody Mayberry, Tiffany Chapman and four great grandchildren, brother, Randy Hall (Dorothy) of Sheridan and sister, Diane Fore (Rickey) of Rison, mother of Allison and Ashley, Brenda Hartwick.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the funeral home with Brother John Fulmer officiating. Interment will follow at Moores Church Road Cemetery in Rison. Mr. Joe Edward Blanks, Sr., passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the P.K. Miller Mortuary.

Mary Moore

Mary Moore, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. She was born October 8, 1928 in Pine Bluff to the late Paul and Rosa Cacibauda Butcalis.

Mary was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, attending Annunciation Academy through the ninth grade, then graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1946. Mary was a lifelong resident of Pine Bluff where she was a homemaker and also spent four years working for the Area Agency on Aging. She also was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as being a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Oscar Odell Moore, whom she married July 6, 1957 in Greenville, MS; 2 sons, Ronald Roberts and Danny Roberts; a brother, Tony Butcalis; and 2 sisters, Lorraine Salvador and Josephine Robinson.

Mary is survived by a son, Sam Moore of Pine Bluff; 6 grandchildren, Zack and Ben Moore, Christopher, Seth, Mary and Thomas Roberts; and 7 great grandchildren.

A Rosary Service will be held 5:30 p.m., today, August 14, 2018 at Ralph Robinson and Son. A Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16 at Graceland Cemetery with Deacon Noel F. “Bud” Bryant officiating.

Artie Milam

Artie Butler Milam, age 94, of Pine Bluff, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at CHI-St.Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.

Artie was born to Turner and Cora Butler in Faulkner County between Holland and Vilonia on November 14, 1923. She moved to Little Rock when she was 15. She attended Little Rock Junior College before leaving to work in restaurants and Jacksonville Arms.

Artie met and fell in love with Gene Milam while living in Little Rock. Gene and Artie married on October 20, 1947 and moved to Pine Bluff where Gene went into the motorcycle business and Artie again worked in a restaurant. Artie later worked many years for Kroger before deciding to help Gene in their family business, Milam’s Honda Center, on Ohio Street.

Hard work, family, and helping others were the cornerstones of Artie’s life. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed traveling with Gene, fishing, camping and shopping.

Artie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Milam and daughter, Robbie Milam as well as her first children, twins born prematurely. She is survived by son, Bubba Milam (Pam) of Pine Bluff; daughter, Debbie Milam of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Chance Milam of Fayetteville, Katie Milam of Little Rock and Charlie Milam of Pine Bluff; many friends; and her cats.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff in the CVICU at CHI-St. Vincent for the professional and compassionate care that Artie received during the last week of her life.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Steve Wingo officiating. Visitation with the family will be held before the service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials take the form of donations to Lakeside United Methodist Church (1500 S. Olive Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601) or Neighbor to Neighbor (1419 S. Pine Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601).
